Ascend November 2024

November 2024

Happy November Reader!

I really hope you’ve been well. It’s been a while since I’ve been able to get a newsletter out and I want to start by saying a very big THANK YOU! Thank you for your patience, thank you for your understanding and thank you for your continued support. And thank you for still being here and reading this.

You could say I fell short. And I did! I fell behind on many of my projects. I kinda did what I always do… I had a bunch of exciting ideas and projects that I started, eager to get them out into the world. Everything was planned out, dates were set and I was confident that I could handle it.

Until I couldn’t…

I tend to forget, especially when planning projects, that I have a family that requires my time and attention. Kids need to be fed and cared for. They get sick and need mama’s love and attention. A home needs care and maintenance. Partners might need support. My parents sometimes need my help with small things. The one constant theme here is that everything requires my time. So sometimes, some business related things, tasks or even projects get put on the back burner until I can get back to them.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not making excuses here. I take full responsibility for my shortcomings. I’m learning as I go and I use my fails as the stepping stones to improving my life and myself. However… I refuse to apologize for any of my shortcomings.

Here’s the thing… I am human. Yes, I’m a divine being at my core, just like you are. However, we are all here having a human experience. And your experience might be very different from mine. My experience is unique to me. With its flaws, shortcomings and all.

Apologizing for my shortcomings would imply that there is something wrong with my human experience. It would be buying into the judgement of my own life and of my own self. Worse still, it would be the equivalent of judging myself, my life and my experience. There is nothing wrong in my story and I haven’t done anything wrong. So, why would I take on any guilt or shame for my experience?

I’m sharing this with the hope that you will come to the understanding that it’s okay for you to fall short, and to be human, and to be imperfect. And I hope you can treat your own self with compassion and understanding when you find yourself performing at less than perfect ideals.

And that’s just what they are… Ideals. Meant for us to work towards, not for us to beat ourselves up over not attaining them.

So, give yourself permission to fall short, be flawed and be you, without guilt or shame or apology. Just thank those around you for their patience and support.

And thank you for being a part of my perfectly imperfect journey.

Much love and blessings,

May

Happy New Year Reader! It’s the start of a new chapter with so much potential and infinite possibilities! What are you going to create? What do you want to create in the next 365 days? I know, 365 days seem like so much time ahead of you to decide and get things going. But, the truth is, those days are going to fly by and you will find yourself in December wondering how another year has come and gone so quickly. Just look at this past year. And the one before. And the one before that. They...

December 2024 Happy Mid-December Reader! Can you believe we are already at the end of 2024? December is always the biggest and shortest month of the year for me (as you can tell by my tardy newsletter publication). Let me explain: December is the shortest month, not by the number of days, but by the number of days dedicated to business and working. Just two weeks this year. December is also my busiest month in terms of celebrations, get-togethers and being a taxi-mom. Anyone else relate to...

April 2024 And just like that Reader, the first quarter of 2024 has come and gone… When you look back, how was it? Truly and from an objective perspective… As if you were just an observer watching a replay of your life in that first quarter… It’s always a good idea to reflect on the past and release it as we plan and prepare for what is coming next. After all, do you really want to step into the next quarter lugging last quarter’s baggage around? Quarter changes, month changes and even week...
